The London Boxing Academy Community Project (LBA) pioneers a ground breaking new approach to youth exclusion. Using the positive effects of sport, mainly boxing, we help some of the most disadvantaged and hard to reach young people in London return to education, training or employment and play a positive role in their communities. Our success rate in achieving this aim is over 90%.
The LBA follows a normal school year combining academic, vocational and life skills qualifications with sports such as boxing, athletics, table tennis, badminton and football. Our students discover that a positive cycle of work and reward in sport leads to raised self-esteem, confidence and a positive frame of mind. Over the months our students transfer this "feel-good" factor to their academic work, vocational training, relationships and every part of their lives.
We rely on donations and we guarantee that your money goes straight to the front line in helping excluded young people build a better future themselves. We do not advertise, have low overheads and squeeze every bit of value from the money we receive.
The LBA is a local grass-roots charity which welcomes volunteers. So whether you wish to mentor, help with admin or you are a teacher or sports coach please get in touch with us. You may be surprised how much you enjoy yourself !
